DVSA recorded 83,604 car theory tests at Uxbridge between April 2025 and March 2026, of which 31,875 were passes and 51,729 were fails. The pass rate was 38.13%, against 44.84% across Great Britain. That is the 162nd highest pass rate of the 165 centres with enough tests to compare, and 8th of 8 in London. Uxbridge is one of the busiest theory test centres in Great Britain, handling about 6,967 sittings in an average month.
The theory test fee is £23 at every centre in Great Britain, so what changes from place to place is not the price of one sitting but how many sittings a licence takes. A pass here costs more in fees than almost anywhere: 2.62 sittings on average, so £60.33 against the £51.29 national figure, a gap of £9.04. The 51,729 fails at Uxbridge last year came to £1.2m in fees paid for tests that had to be taken again, out of £1.9m taken at this centre in total.

One retake buys nothing
A second sitting is another full £23. There is no retake discount. The official DVSA revision app is £4.99, so a retake costs about 5 times as much as the thing that would have prevented it.
